"60 Hikes in 60 Miles" allows me to research hikes before I go; to know how to get there; where to park; how accessible the trails are; how long it will take to get there; how strenuous the trail is; what to expect and how to prepare in advance. Though the guide does not cover every trail in each park; it highlights a trail that is representative of what's available at that park or location. I photocopy just the few pages of the book that relate to a particular trail instead of carrying the entire book with me on a hike. McDonaldI've been a fan of Jane Huber's website; bahiker dot com; for years and finally bought her book to support her. The book compiles 60 of the hikes that are also online. I continue to use the website more when finding a hike to take; but the book is handy to bring along. It's also nice to browse through it when I'm not immediately planning a hike.
