New to this edition of "A Brief History of the Romans" are the following: Extended coverage by about 200 years; to approximately 500 CE (as opposed to 300 CE in the first edition); two new chapters: Chapter 13: "The Rise of Christianity and the Growth of the Barbarian Threat"; and Chapter 14: "The Final Years of the Western Empire and Rome's Revival in the East"; chapters 1 and 2 from the first edition combined into a single chapter titled "Archaic Italy and the Origins of Rome"; an eight-page; full-color insert featuring 15 color plates; and more coverage of women; religions; and cultural history throughout. There is also a Companion Website that offers resources for students and instructors.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. which was a nice surprise.By EUNICE MEDINAOrder for Roman history class. InterestingBy Zuodian HuActually a decently well written history book that makes me want to read it. It's not at all dry like I would expect out of a school text book.
