Description

Within each of us is an extraordinary potential for love and compassion that is capable of completely transforming the way that we experience our world. Through the ancient wisdom of the Kalachakra teachings it is possible to unlock this potential and manifest a sublime realm of experience; free from all forms of suffering and conflict. This state of eternal bliss is known by some as Shambhala. For the first time ever; Khentrul Rinpoché explores deep into the hidden meaning of Shambhala and why it is so important for overcoming the problems in this world. With great precision and clarity he dispels the many layers of confusion that have built up around this often misunderstood subject; while also introducing a profound method for spiritual development that is rooted in an unbiased and expansive approach. Representing more than a thousand years of collective experience; the Jonang Masters have faithfully preserved the Kalachakra teachings in an unbroken lineage making it possible for you to hold this book in your hand today. No matter where you are on your own spiritual journey; these teachings provide an essential map for how to go beyond all forms of limitation and to realise the ultimate nature of reality.

A Deep Map of Western Grand Canyon and Upper Lake Mead CountryBy Bill GoodartIf you would like a guide to a little known area within and adjacent to the Grand Canyon; this is the book for you. Here you can enjoy quiet and solitude; scenic vistas; rare yet abundant desert plants; awesome geologic features; boating on Lake Mead and the Colorado River with ready access to improved concrete launch ramps without the usual crowds and delays.Despite the remoteness; there is a small outpost with lodging; fuel; and provisions close by (look up Meadview; Arizona on the Internet).A visit will surely result in many questions about this little-known area. In a complete way; this book will answer many; if not most of these questions; from history; geology; and archeology to the present (Grand Canyon West is within the area described in this book).Better yet; this book provides insight invaluable to planning a visit to this area (remember Grand Canyon is in the middle of the area described within this book).I would have to give this book at least 5-stars.*****0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy jsrumbExcellent book with lots of Mohave county history.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I HAVE ENJOYED READING THIS BOOKBy LOLA HILLTHIS IS A VERY COLORFUL HISTORY OF THE AREA AND THE STORIES ARE MOST INTERESTING. IT IS AMAZING WHAT THE INDIANS AND THEN SETTLERS WENT THROUGH TO SURVIVE IN THIS RUGGED LAND. THE COURAGE AND INGENUITY THAT IT TOOK TO MOVE WAGONS AND LIVESTOCK WAS A TREMENDOUS UNDERTAKING AND THE STORIES ON THE VARIED HISTORICAL ATTEMPTS TO MANIPULATE AND CONTROL THE FORCES OF THE COLORADO RIVER BELOW GRAND CANYON WERE VERY INSIGHTFUL. IT'S A MUST READ IF YOU PLAN TO VISIT THE AREA OR WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT IT.
