A French Slave in Nazi Germany: A Testimony

DOC A French Slave in Nazi Germany: A Testimony by Elie Poulard in History

Description

In this study; Robert H. Nelson explores the genesis; the prophets; the prophesies; and the tenets of what he sees as a religion of economics that has come into full blossom in latter-day America. Nelson does not see "theology" as a bad word; and his examination of the theology underlying Samuelsonian and Chicagoan economics is not a put-down. It is a way of seeing the rhetoric of fundamental belief - what has been called "vision".

A must read for anyone who wants to more fully understand this aspect of WWII historyBy Aaron G.As noted in the Introduction; "In the literature on World War II; not much appears about the use of foreign workers by the Nazi regime or their fate; especially in English..." That is one reason "A French Slave in Nazi Germany" is such an important book.In June; 1943; Elie Poulard was sent to work in Germany and became a 'déportés du travail.' He survived abuse; bombings; starvation rations; and horrific camp conditions. This book provides detailed testimony of those years (...food; friends; and small moments that illuminate both brutality and kindness). The book is a must-read for anyone who wants to more fully understand this complex aspect of World War II history.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. An excellent book which inspired me to learn moreBy SL Cassar TorreggianiAn excellent book which inspired me to learn more. Well written and very personal. I'm so pleased that the author took the risk to write this story as I read once they returned from Germany; they were not well received.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
