This book demonstrates that numerous prominent artists in every period of the modern era were expressing spiritual interests when they created celebrated works of art. This magisterial overview insightfully reveals the centrality of an often denied and misunderstood element in the cultural history of modern art.

Great condition; but not the best bookBy Suraj PFive stars for the delivery and condition of the textbook; but two stars for the content of the textbook. Extremely DRY and VERY difficult to read for anyone! I definitely suggest looking online for study guide reviews of each chapter; or asking your professsor for them. These tended to summarize the information better; but not well enough. The book has a ton of information; most of which wasn't even useful and seemed excessive. Good luck.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. DON'T BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE TO!By CustomerIt only got 3 stars because it was as described. As for the reading it is a terrible book the authors do a really good job at confusing you and adding in extra knowledge that nobody needs to know. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE TO!!1 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Great Condition for UsedBy El GoogleIt was in very good condition when it arrived in my campus box. It does however come with a sticker but that's removable so it's fine. Other than that it is worth every penny. It is a textbook (cheaper than on bookstore) after all.
