Now don't hold me to this; but my understanding is the author wrote this book about people he knew in Marion County; South Carolina. I believe it was written in 1901 and the author passed away in 1902.In reading the book; there are lots of spelling mistakes which took me a while to get use to. The author was an intelligent man; but he was in his 80's when he wrote it. I picture him having so much to say and knowing he was old; he probably just scribbled down his thoughts and recollections. I am so grateful to him for sharing things with me (the reader) that there is no way I would known any other way.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Four StarsBy Donald W. Good overall informationBy Jeanette PeeplesThe overall information is good. Most of the family histories are not source cited but contained clues to where you could look for further information.
