My great; great; great uncle Richard Rockingham who served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 6th Kentucky is featured in this book. He was killed in a field hospital that was bombarded. I find it interesting the stories I've heard since I was a young child; are retold here with the same accuracy I've known for years.My mother submitted the photo that appears on page 220 of this book. HallJoseph Reinhart's history of the valiant 6th Ky Volteersis a wonderful and comprehensive story extensively researched.He follows the unit from it's initial formation in northern Kythrough camps; marches; battles until the unit is mustered outafter Atlanta.It is full of wonderful first hand accounts with some pictures and maps. This history is valuable addition to a reader's Cival War collection. It even has a roster of each company withmuster in and muster out information. It is a precious accountof those tragic times. A reader having an ancestor or familymember in the regiment will find this history a great treasure
