Get this book!By CustomerIf you are interested in learning about (or more about) Shinto; this book is well worth the price. It may be a dictionary; but it is useful for far more than just looking up words occasionally. I am learning from every entry; and I love it so much I am actually reading it straight through! I have many books on Shinto; but with this dictionary; I am learning things those books did not even touch on. I am gaining a nice overall picture of the Shinto customs and ways; and I am able to use this book as a springboard for learning more. If you want to know more about a topic; on the Kindle; just click the word and search Wikipedia or Google and you'll find some beautiful photos of the shrines and shrine architecture; ritual items; festivals (matsuri); and so on. Go to the websites for the particular shrines discussed in the dictionary; and you'll start to get a much better understanding of shrines than you would just reading a book about Shinto shrines in general. What is great about the dictionary is that it has entries for Kami and shrines that are not normally even mentioned in other books about Shinto. This is one of my favorite purchases so far on the kindle; even though it was a bit pricy. It is worth it.
