audiobook Ambush!: A Professional's Guide to Preparing and Preventing Ambushes by Joshua Potter; Gary Stubblefield; Mark Monday in History

Description

Two volumes. Originally published: Boston: the Boston Book Company; 1909. Reprint of the sole edition. These volumes contain all of thedecided cases of colonial Virginia's chief court reported by Randolph[c.1693-1737] and Barradall [1704-1743]. Excepting a few casesreported later by Thomas Jefferson and William Hopkins; these are allof the cases reported during the colonial period. Invaluable sourcesfor the early history of American law; Barton commends these reportsfor "the picture they give of [Virginia's] colonial period in all itsshades and aspects" and their ability to "make the observer see whatthe more detailed narrative of history fails to tell" (Preface iv). This set is further enriched by Barton's 250-page introduction; whichoutlines the legal system of colonial Virginia and sets the reports intheir social context.

Good informationBy Prometheus IThis a wide-ranging review of ambush and counter ambush techniques; from executive protection in a private vehicle; to river ambushes in Vietnam. Easy to understand. Not in military-speak; like so many of these books (which I don't speak so well). Am about 3/4 of the way through and it has been a good read so far. Not super in-depth as it covers so many topics; but it gives enough detail to make you think and I believe you could probably fill in the blanks or use the referenced material found in the text for further research.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. AMBUSH! A Professional's Guide to Preparing and Preventing AmbushesBy TransporterThis 2nd book of the authors is what they promised in the first book: That their subject was going to evolve; and that the authors would evolve with the subject when writing their second book. Mission Accomplished! The vignettes are pointed to the subject of the following chapter. This book is still very oriented to the military man it was originally meant for; but there is enough relevant information in the pages to make this book required reading for an charitable organization headed into a destabilizing/destabilized country.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. This is good to know.By CustomerI'm not planning on ambushing anyone by any means; but like what Stephen King says; " read a lot. Write a lot." At least this fills in the BS you watch on tv about ambushes.
