The Paperback BOOK is the Best Book of 2016! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- God made the mountains and the seas. He made all the animals. He made the heavens and the stars. He made the sun and the moon and He made the angels. Then Allah decided to make a man. He called this first man Adam. He taught him many things so that Adam had more knowledge than the angels. There was one Jinn; called Iblis; the Devil. Iblis tried to compare himself to Adam. He believed that he was more honorable than Adam. Therefore he abstained from prostrating even though Allah had commanded him to do so. Adam was surprised by this creature; Iblis who abhorred him without even knowing him and who imagined himself better than Adam without having proved that he was worthier. Allah gives His commissioned creatures’ absolute freedom even to the extent that they can refuse His commands. Allah grants them the freedom of denial; disobedience; and even disagreement with Him. His kingdom will not diminish if the disbelievers do not believe in Him nor will it be extended if many people believe in Him.

I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty." A funny man whom had a hard life growing up as I found out by reading this book since he quit school at age 7 and went to work in 1903 (the same year his father died). Somehow he was able to block out what was painful and see life as being funny and I am sure glad he did and was able to share that with all of us. Meeting Gracie Allen was by far the best thing that happened in his life; whom reminds me of a forerunner to 'Edith Bunker' given this passage "Burns asks if Allen is capable of consuming two entire chops 'alone'. She replies that eating the lamb chops alone would be impossible; but that she could eat them with potatoes." I'm not sure what is harder to fathom; George having to be tutored late in life so he would be able to read and write his own gags or the famed F. Scott Fitzgerald volunteering in vain to write material for George Gracie (tho apparently they both happened!) I could go on and on about how much I liked this man and this book and I'm glad to have been reminded of a couple of movies of his I'd care to see including "A Damsel in Distress" and "The Sunshine Boys." Rather than write a book about a book I'll end with one final zinger and let you acquire it so you can read more yourself; "First you forget names; then you forget faces. Next you forget to pull your zipper up and finally; you forget to pull it down." Excellent!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
