Not as 'global' as I'd hoped; but still worth a shotBy Stephen RauscherI saw this at the bookstore and bought it (on my Kindle - Sorry Barnes and Noble!) because I was interested in learning more about the history of India and China; and came away a little disappointed. I imagine any "history of global antiquity" written in English by a Westerner would probably focus mostly on Greece and Rome; about which so much has already been written (in English; by Westerners); so I can't be too critical. As a work of popular history; though; it's very good; and it was genuinely surprising to learn how ancient civilizations often thought of as distinct from one another were more connected than is generally understood.0 of 3 people found the following review helpful. with the best service .By Bess NoraNice and valuable.
