Approaches to Auschwitz: The Holocaust and Its Legacy

DOC Approaches to Auschwitz: The Holocaust and Its Legacy by Richard L. Rubenstein; John K. Roth in History

Description

Using a bioethical approach; John Cobb Jr. tackles some of the most controversial issues facing society and the church today--something theologians have often failed to do in the past. His four major topics are animal well-being; death with dignity; the moral status of the fetus; and sexual activity outside of marriage.

Review

Really great information and insight. We read this for a class on the Holocaust at my university and it really puts events in an order that is easy to follow. Not only does it cover the rise of Nazism and Hitler; but begins with the origins of anti-Semitism beginning with the Judeo-Roman War and Jesus. Excellent read0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy SpringGreat condition.7 of 15 people found the following review helpful. Professor Rubenstein was my most fascinating and challengingBy Paul D. HarvillProfessor Rubenstein was my most fascinating and challenging professor at FSU during the 1970s. His range of intellectual inquiry makes him a "Renaissance" man. He has written numerous provocative and important books. And I am re-reading the books thirty plus years later. This book though is more recent. And this is one of the best overview type of books on the Holocaust.;including the theological consequences of the Holocaust.
