A marine's diary of the Korean War and the battle of Chosin Reservoir. A story of courage; strong faith; and determination by a young marine to lead others against incredible odds to become one of the "Chosin Few". A religious picture of the Boy Jesus was found amidst rubble and destruction became a relic that Richard Janca carried with him for life. This is a story of heroism of a young marine who earned the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

The definitive series continuesBy wjcThe third volume in Tom Cooper and David Nicolle's groundbreaking series covers the Arab air forces during the 1967 War; with some inevitable coverage of pre- and post-war topics. As with the first two volumes; every page has revelations; new information; never-before-seen photographs and original research. In its efforts to be balanced and sympathetic towards the Arab side; some readers will likely take issue with some of the bigger-picture political analysis; but this should not dissuade the reader who already has a decent understanding of the Arab-Israeli wars.My only minor complaints are the same as for the first two volumes: More maps; color profiles; and tables of organization would be nice. But overall; these books constitute truly revolutionary research and superb access to original sources. Additionally; they're extremely well produced; with great binding; layout; editing; etc. I'm not sure how long this series will continue (will it go past the 1973 War; for example?) but I'll continue buying new volumes as long as my shelf can support their weight.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
