A must read for people who wants to learn what the military is doing overseasBy CustomerExcellent reading; very detailed work by David Vine on what the USA is doing around the world and how much damage is causing in the name of homeland security and the incredible amount of. money is costing the taxpayers. I think everybody should read this book to understand why so many people around the world has a distaste for American foreign policy.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. How we need to protect our allies in certain parts of the world- South Korea; Japan; etc. I've been told that US military bases help the economies of the countries they are in. The Navy protects the worlds trading routes. My libertarian beliefs began to shake dramatically.I thought by finishing this book; I would figure out how to refute those claims. Frankly; I am disappointed. This book does not address those claims at all. If a neoconservative or even a regular conservative read this book; his or her mind would not change a bit.David Vine barely goes into how our bases in Saudi Arabia led to the 9/11 attacks. I still do not understand how our military bases in the world do that much harm. He approaches this from a biased perspective and that seems to be really obvious.I read all 340 pages and I am very disappointed.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
