If there was one thing that i would like to see in this book would be GPS or latitude/longitude coordinates on for all the places referenced which would permit a detailed self-tour on less obvious portions of the battle locations. I have always had an interest in this battle due to living so close to it; the Battle of the Clouds and Paoli Battle. I think it is sad so little overall attention is directed to these places except for some dedicated individuals and groups. And given Brandywine was the largest battle of the American Revolution it is even distressing that development continues today in many parts where this battle took place. As a side comment; all these years of coin production by the mint on statehood quarters; national park quarters; not one coin produced by mint for this or any other revolutionary battle. A quarter this year in Saratoga will be the first. Brandywine....such a massive and significant event leading to the creation of this country is all but forgotten by a relative few.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Probably THE Authoritative Work on BrandywineBy Michael W. BellAn excellent IN DEPTH account of a battle which usually only gets a few pages; at most; in other works. It clarifies much of what has been either misunderstood or misrepresented in the past and does away with many myths. I can only hope Mr. Harris follows it up with another book which takes us through to the end of the Philadelphia Campaign. I highly recommend it.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. No place like home rings trueBy PenpusherFor aficionados. I lived more than half my life in Brandywine country; much of it before builders developed it. No place like home rings true. In still morning fog; the battle sounds ride gently on the wind as it blows through the vale. If you want to be there in the line; you'll enjoy this book.
