Not bad for what it isBy Jonathan WellerFor whatever reason; the Zulu War of 1879 hs left huge impression on historians the world over. The war was minute considering the scale of other wars; but for some reason it is big on the world stage. The most popular part of the war was undoubtedly the "massacre" at Isandlwana and the staunch defense at Roarks Drift. However; there were other battles that never recieved the acclaim of those two. Sadly you'll find very little of those battles in this book; this is more of an overview than anything else; but it is good for what it's intened for. I personally enjoy reading about this war; but this book may not be the appropriate starting point for new readers. If your a completist on the Zulu War; by all means pick this book up. However; if you're looking for a little more depth; look elsewhere.
