King; was in "The Caves" that are described in the book. He and I read the book together many years ago but he was unable to finish because it brought back too many memories of the harsh treatment he received at the hands of the North Koreans and the Chinese. It is a great book; and General Dean deserves more recognition for his leadership and courage.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Broken SoldiersBy Walter JoynerGreat book; very detailed on the life of American prisoners of the Korean War. Those guys went through a lot and the enemy was really trying to change their whole human structures and poison the American way. During that period of time just like the enemy stated; the US played into the communist hands and these guys suffered.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Easy readBy rbl7920This book tells the story of those who became prisoners-of-war during the Korean Conflict in a very interesting manner. It is very well written and an easy read.
