The popular apologist and best-selling author of Catholicism and Fundamentalism addresses fifty-two of the most common misconceptions about the Catholic Faith that are held by many Catholics and Protestants. Drawing upon Scripture and the Catholic tradition; he not only shows the logical errors in these positions but clearly spells out Catholic teaching and explains the rationale behind frequently misunderstood doctrines and practices. An excellent guide to what Catholics really believe and why.

FascinatingBy Deborah CollinsThis is a fascinating and very readable account of the struggles with loyalties in the Appalachians during the Civil War. Geography wasn't the only deciding factor in the choosing of sides. It really was a matter of brother against brother. One anecdote I found especially amusing was about a church in the border area that had a door for Confederate and another for Union. Somehow I can just picture the proud partisans choosing the appropriate door and snubbing those going in the other side. I live in the area so found the book extra enjoyable but I think anyone with an interest in the war would enjoy it.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I'm choosing to view it as somewhat fictional; though; since I'm not sure the facts line up. For one; the French Broad river doesn't "transect" North Carolina. It begins in the southern mountains and flows north; continuing through the mountains in to Tennessee. The book is informative; though; so I give it four stars.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This is enjoyable book and filled with facts and cultural items that are hard to find unless you want to make the physical trip. If I were to make any suggestions it would be to include maps at the very front. There is so much information in this book. It should be added to anyone doing their history research or enjoyment reading.
