You don't need a weatherman....By BluesdocSome things hide in plain sight - It baffles me how people can look at Hindu Sadhus and their Jamaican cousins (the hard-core Rastas) and not comprehend that Cannabis is a powerful entheogen in its own right? From a behavioral pharmacology perspective; combining a stimulant like ephedra with cannabis in the Soma mixture; as suggested by some archeologists; is more compatible with the aggressive behavior of the God-intoxicated Aryans which was immortalized in the Vedas - it makes sense that what was lost was the knowledge of the ratio of the components of Soma rather than the knowledge of the properties of the individual plants; which have never ceased to be used. I think that the main value of this book is that it places cannabis in a different context - as much more than a simple intoxicant - of course; it also collapses the argument that the effects of cannabis are trivial.
