A hundred Thousand Star rating; not just 5.By zzbloozMama Donna is a soulful; soulful poet as she explains the ancient aspects and understanding of the turn of the wheel of the year. I read this over and over; and get something new out of it each time. She's deep yet accessible--- there's a LOT here; and it's all gorgeous!!! I use this for designing my own rituals to celebrate the seasons; and am always reminded how crucial this understanding of the seasonal changes was for human survival. And if it's said that dull academic explanations are DRY; hers are dripping; sopping wet. Fascinating; satisfying; nourishing; and full of gifts of pleasure; insight and information; I couldn't recommend this book any higher. I keep it on the shelf closest to my reading chair and read about each season as it comes up; each year; year after year.
