Great book to indroduce children to the hardships of immigration.By cricketsMy 10 year old grandson was doing a project in school and I purchased this book; especially because it had tons of pictures of immigrants coming into the United States through Ellis Island. The fact that the book is dedicated to children made it incredibly easy for him to relate to. He asked questions (which I had to research since I was born in the U.S.) and received an A+ on the project he was working on.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Ellis IslandBy Dolores M. GellyA nice addition to my library about Ellis Island. I seems that the children were well cared for; in most cases; but it is very sad when they were rejected for physical problems.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
