Daughters of Miriam: Women Prophets in Ancient Israel

DOC Daughters of Miriam: Women Prophets in Ancient Israel by Wilda C. Gafney in History

Description

Why do evangelicals care so much about Israel? How did this special relationship develop? What has it produced? Certain understandings of Bible prophecy have profoundly shaped the way evangelicals and other Americans view Israel and the political policies that have supported the Jewish state. Now in paperback; this major work on an ever timely theme is for anyone interested in American-Israeli relations; history; theology; and politics. "Timothy Weber's important and timely book illuminates the end-times beliefs that shape millions of Americans' view of current events. Well-researched and historically grounded . . . This disturbing work deserves the widest possible readership."--Paul S. Boyer; author; When Time Shall Be No More

FantasticBy KetzirahThis book is a great read for anyone looking to expand their understanding of women's roles in Ancient Israel. While Rev. Gafney is Christian; I found her to be completely non-dogmatic. I was actually very surprised to learn she is Christian and not Jewish; based on her writing in this book.As a Kohenet ([...]); this book fit beautifully into the teachings of my religious order and expanded my understanding of certain areas of the text we had studied.I recommend this book to anyone Jewish or Christian looking to explore women's roles and traditions in the Torah.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
