Excellent timing.By Justin LarsenFirst off I'll disclose that I am in CoS but was not a part of this compilation in any way so take that how you will with the objectivity of this review.I originally was not going to buy this to be brutally honest. I thought it was going to be another book of essays just full of misanthropic rants (not that I mind that) and recipes for Greater Magic rituals. No this was exactly what the Doctor ordered. It is Satanism applied by real members uncensored. I've only been a first degree and affiliated almost a year and I was quite impressed. Many names I knew and some I pleasantly didn't. It had a bit of everything and it had variety which kept my attention. It was refreshing. I hate social media although like everyone you get addicted. I liked it had every background; level; etc. and it wasn't to impress anyone. I thought all of the essays were fantastic and well written. Some I couldn't relate to just due to circumstance. I had some favorites and I won't mention the names of the contributors (buy it yourself) as some really hit home. One was that it isn't a congregation. I like that it was spelled out there are members you will never meet or hear about. That people keep their work private. I think that showed a lot of respect for people that value their privacy and don't have the need to keep up with the joneses overtly. I respect also that it was made clear CoS doesn't host events. Learned it the hard way but the logic I respect. We associate with each other voluntarily. In this day and age I think it's self explanatory and not diffficult to meet people. I won't say names but I had a former friend that was a member I never knew about it for a decade. Privacy is maintained. I did attend the fiftieth and wish this book was done by then (selfishly) but this is a great addition regardless.Another was the shout out to Letters to the Devil. I'm a recent member but I've been on that forum under a pseudonym for years studying in a observer capacity. I respect that it was mentioned as the Intenet was not commonly used when I first learned of CoS.I hope another volume of this is done in a similiar format in the future. I like the premise of it and am unsure to be honest if this has been done before. I prefer this to social media any day where you can more easily misrepresent yourself. I guess I'm old fashioned. I like books and to touch the pages.Well done Rev. Vernor and thank you. Also thanks to everyone who contributed. And loved the end.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great book!By Robert K StockThis is an important book. The essays explain what is Satanism and how the religion is applied in the lives of individual Satanists. A must read for anyone interested in learning the truth about this subject.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A definite readBy CustomerThis is by far one of the best books I have read. It explained the concept of Satanism from those experienced in the "religion" and caused many "ah ha" moments. I recommend this book to everyone.
