The length is perfect for those who want a good feel for the Reformer and the events surrounding his life and ministry; with the author providing judicious summaries at certain intersections when the details of court and ecclesiastical affairs would bog down the narrative. I felt that I really “got to know” Cranmer on some level while reading this text. I’m not an Episcopalian and believe this text should be read widely in the Christian church - just as accounts of John Wesley would benefit not only Methodists but the church in general. The volume includes endnotes; an index; and an annotated bibliography. One curiosity: Perhaps I missed it; but after reading the work I’m not quite sure of the significance of the main title; “Emblem of Faith Untouched.” Highly recommended.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Learn from this good and Godly man.By MaymieJust finished reading this book. It is a very moving account of the man behind the English Reformation. I found myself both admiring and sympathizing with this courageous; godly and very human man. In spite of his frailties there is much to admire about Cranmer once you understand his journey. If you enjoy religious history do pick up this one.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Very good definitive biography of Thomas Cranmer's life and deathBy Ron; rural NVVery good definitive biography of Thomas Cranmer's life and death. I'd recommend this read especially for those Christians of the Anglican/Episcopal faith and for anyone interested in early English church history.
