1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Groundbreaking researchBy M. BlanchardThis finely written; thoroughly researched book presents groundbreaking insights into the revolutionary Russian women's movement; which led the international breakthrough for women's sufferage. Ruthchild's work counters accepted assumptions about splits between working class and middle-class women and about the impact of the women's movement on the culture as a whole. It provides insights relevant to the history of the women's movement in the United States as well as the continuing struggle for women's rights around the world. A must read.
