MartenSuch a treasure trove of information on Islam perfidies; European Union suicidal concessions; Israel disparagement; this author concisely explains so much; so clearly; she answers a lot of nagging questions I have had. Ayaan Hirsi Ali in "Heretic" clearly defines the 5 specific beliefs in the Quran that do not belong in a civilized society; sharia law and jihad are two of those. Bat Ye'or here shows how Europe is ignoring the huge deficiencies of Islam; why they do it and why it will be at their peril.She explains that the Quran demands worldwide conversion; the whole world is Muslim property (from Allah) only temporarily occupied by non-believers; terrorism only applies to Muslim on Muslim--jihad is required against infidels. Muslims ignore centuries of their atrocities over three continents and blame Western colonialists for creating unrest. She completely clarified how Israel gets so much blame for trying to defend itself; why Palestine and its' terrorists gets so much support from the EU.She explains why Arabs (Muslims; really) hate Israel: Islam was Judaism until Mohammed and even until The Crusades; they believe the OT is theirs (incredible) and want to eliminate Jews to get it back. Even though the OT was written a thousand years before the Quran; the Bible names places all over the Middle East and the Quran has NO mention of any location; especially Palestine.The main goal of the book is calling out European apologists and short-sighted politicians who are jealous of US influence in the world; they are committing suicide to kowtow to Islamists. Europeans are trying to create a perfect society; they need to realize that sharia law will never fit into that concept; Islam will never give up sharia and jihad; it is demanded by "Allah". The current conditions in Europe are going to prove her correct; hundreds of thousands of refugees crossing unprotected borders is the result of accommodating the perfidy of Islam. Now she is forced to witness this same anti-Christian anti-Jewish Islamic radicalism overrun Europe with the support of Europe's leaders themselves. The average European citizen who still values his/her own Judeo-Christian culture has never consented to the Islamization of Europe but what the average citizen wants does not matter to the plotters who think that Islam offers them more power and more money than does traditional Western Civilization. Avoid the book/subject at your own perilBy PrinceI would say that this title might be the only one out there that tries to explain almost at a scholarly level the "not so easy" developments in Europe and the West in the last 3-4 decades. Bat Ye'or presents a robust material that has its underpinning in theological; historical; social and political events/facts that explains in a way the "madness" that has taken over the Western Hemisphere. To quote Bat Ye'or : How did Christian peoples and states;some with powerful armies and the richest cultures of their times; collapse when faced with the onslaught of jihad and dhimmitude from the seventh to the fifteenth centuries? Now I no longer ask myself this question. The breakdown process that I used to study and documented in old chronicles I have seen taking place in today's Europe......Keeping Christian officials in their positions maintained a semblance of continuity. Behind their foggy screen; Islamization could penetrate within every stratum of the vanquished societies. End Quote
