Europe's Ghost: Tolerance; Jihadism; and the Crisis in the WestBy John SullivanIn my senior year of high school I did a research paper on contemporary and postwar Europe. Obviously; in looking at social patterns defining our current era immigration; particularly from the Islamic world; has figured largely in Europe. In researching this topic I found many of the books overly anecdotal; or otherwise they just seemed like the rantings of a far-right political activist. But; the breadth of Mr Radu's work is impressive; and he presents his extensive research in an encyclopedic manner. In an eerily detached way he has his detailed facts back up his arguments instead of simply using fiery rhetoric. Given how I am writing the first review on the book; it is clear that some of the less in-depth volumes on the subject; like The Last Days of Europe by Mr Laqueur; While Europe Slept by Mr Bawer; and Londonistan by Ms Phillips; have certainly received more attention; however; I cannot stress enough that if you are looking for a truly scholarly work on the current situation of the Muslim minorities in Europe that is written with as little inflation of the facts and blatant fear-mongering as possible (though much of his research certainly invites a quiet horror); then this is the book to get.0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
