No; it does not have the depth or weighty material of larger; expanded or multiple volume work but for the person interested in knowing the people; events plus 'whys and 'hows' this work does a good job. The references are scholarly and the reading is not cumbersome. Nor does one need a thesaurus nearby to define terminology.
