Since the 1970s; archaeologists have made great strides in recovering the lost world of the Old Testament. Experts understanding of ancient Israel and its neighbours; and Bible tales; have been changed by these discoveries. This book looks at how the Bible came into existence. The authors assert that Abraham; Isaac and jacob never existed; David and Soloman were merely Chieftans and not kings and the Exodus never happened. They claim; through archaeological evidence; that the Bible was created by the people from the southern nation of Judah; in a last ditch attempt to keep their faith alive.

Vistica has done a thorough job taking the USN to task for its constant lying and incompetence. A more recent book (2007) called Lessons Not Learned: The U.S. Navy's Status Quo Culture by Roger Thompson is similar to this one; but covers the entire post-World War II era. Thompson's book was inspired by the work of the late Scott Shuger; a former USN intelligence officer who was a harsh critic of the USN. If you like Vistica and Shuger; you should also read Professor Thompson's book. Both books are outstanding.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Anchors AweighBy RandyCeeAn excellent look at the Military establishment in Washington; DC. How the Navy operates behind the scenes. It reflects the role of relationships and naval tradition. I would recommend this in conjunction with the Tailhook Report by the Defense Department. Very will researched and well written by the author.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Investigation in the mazes of the Pentagon; the navy fleetsBy Vincent VagnerI read it twice. Because these true stories of admirals and defense officials during the Cold War and the 90's are written like it was a novel. In the style of Bob Woodward; without the "politically correct" of this White House historian. of course; this might be politically biased and even though; I may not agree with Vistica position on the Tailhook scandal; I recon that it's well written and highly informative.
