Wonderful introduction to the Bronze AgeBy Joel KarwatskyThis is a textbook-style book; but its still reads pretty easily. I'm no scholar of history; but have a casual interest. Given my limited experience; I feel this is a great introduction to the early civilizations of the Near East (Mesopotamia; Egypt; Assyria; and Babylon); which is nice since I've had a difficult time finding a book that provided a simple overview of this topic. I enjoyed the clear way in which it was written and the way the main topics were laid out. There are tons of exemplary illustrations which really help in the understanding of the material. Finally; the maps are well made and easy to understand.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Enjoyable and highly informative.By Will JeromYou don’t have to be an expert to read and enjoy this book; in my opinion. If you have an interest in ancient Mesopotamia and Egyptian civilization; this book will give you a great introductory source of information. Written in an easily readable; yet academically professional manner; I would highly recommend this book as a enjoyable; comprehensive overview of these ancient civilizations and their development.
