Simply fascinating...By Michel JobéI bought this book quite a long time ago; having a quick look through it before shelving it in my (extensive) aviation library; waiting to be picked up for reading. It took quite some time; but it was worth it!No extensive discussion of politics or war strategies here; just the fascinating stories of men doing the job they have to do; day in; day out; recounted in a way that puts us at their side in the cockpits... fascinating flying stories.The iconography is extensive; all in colour; and does not center only on aircraft but also on landscapes and autochtones' day to day lives; a real reportage of how it was to be there.Mention is done in the book about the "Hump pilots association". I made a quick research on the net to find it; only to discover that the association was dissolved in 2006 due to the disappearance of most members. These real heroes are now mostly gone; but this book is a wonderful tribute to their accomplishment. Get it if you can!
