Westmoreland County was created from Northumberland county in 1653. It is the parent county of Stafford; Prince William; King George Fauquier. Many of Westmoreland's early records are missing especially the marriages which do not start until 1772. Wills are wonderful source for the researcher due to many and variety of family members being mentioned. Many times marriages of various family members can be discovered within a will.

Being a complete novice at writing battle scenes; I needed it "spelled out" very clearly for me. This book did it all; authenticating battles in detail including some by Napoleon and to the present day. It was just as it was just as helpful as I had been told and hoped it would be.
