In dieser Arbeit wird untersucht; wie sich das von den Achämeniden aufgebaute Weltreich bis zu seinem Untergang entwickelt beziehungsweise welche Vorgaben es bei der Errichtung eines Staates durch die ersten Seleukiden hinterlassen hat. Des Weiteren wird dargestellt; wie im seleukidischen Reich griechische; makedonische; achämenidische und sonstige altorientalische Traditionen zu einem lebensfähigen Ganzen verbunden wurden. Deshalb wird keiner der beteiligten Fachdisziplinen Altorientalistik; Iranistik und Alte Geschichte ein Vorrang eingeräumt; vielmehr sollen alle Forschungsbereiche nach den dort jeweils geltenden Kriterien für Vollständigkeit durchdrungen werden. Auf diese Weise soll die Frage beantwortet werden; inwiefern Sachzwänge beziehungsweise historische Vorgaben die Entstehung dieser Staaten determiniert haben; beziehungsweise welche Bedeutung dem gestalterischen Freiraum von Gründern und maßgeblichen Herrscherpersönlichkeiten beizumessen ist.

I purchased this as a reference book; not as a picture book. However; there are no dates of usage on the 1000+ badges listed in this book; no constuction information other than a list of manufacturers; no photos of the reverses of the various manufacturers styles.....in fact there is absolutely zero useful information in this book.If you are looking for tons of pretty pictures of French badges; and don't mind spending $30.00 or so for them; then this is the book for you. If; on the other hand; you are looking for information on French badges......keep looking; as this isn't it.
