Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition); as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits; maps; sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images; so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts; we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

He assess his game 7 performance both in detail and at a more macro level. He uses pieces of the game as jump off points to delve into sidebars on his own background; or thoughts about teammates. He does not shy away from criticism or controversy; but at the same time; he does not unnecessarily hammer anyone either. Anyway;my Dad (and I) really enjoyed reading it. It's amazing how detailed Ron Darling's memory is! Great read for a Mets fan! Interesting self-analysis by an '86 MetBy Gene KillianI'm not a huge fan of books by athletes (except for "Ball Four"; which I think I memorized as a kid) but this one is worth a look. Ron Darling; a Yale man and currently one of the best analysts in baseball; beats himself up over a bad pitching outing in Game 7 of the 1986 World Series (a game the Mets eventually won). You can see how; as a young pitcher; he lost the battle in his mind before he ever took the mound - a valuable lesson in business and life as well as baseball. The other thing that struck me about the book is that; for a young guy making a lot of money to play a kids' game in the greatest city in the world; he didn't seem to be having any fun.
