What does the Jewish tradition have to say about leadership? It is a central theme of Jewish history and a pressing concern for contemporary Jewish organizational life. From Sanctuary to Boardroom: A Jewish Approach to Leadership examines key Jewish texts on leadership and applies these concepts to today's issues associated with leading and managing organizations. Discussing subjects such as authority; charisma; uses and abuses of power; and shared power; the book offers an understanding of the key classical models of Jewish leadership; helps explicate these models in clear and communicative style; and translates these models into issues and questions which are the core of contemporary concern of existing and future Jewish leaders.

DecisionsBy McjhI was particularly interested in where our country came from and where it seems to be headed in the faith vs political area and what we are teaching today's generation. Paul Marshal does an excellent job in speaking of the need to know the historical and faith based background of the constitution. He encourages the detailed historical knowledge that should be used in making political judgments. Several generations have now been taught that this country; the USA; is becoming more of a secular country and that "traditional beliefs and morality" are no longer relevant. This is not true and in fact even though some churches have lost members and closed; there are still many Citizens who believe in traditional values; whether it be Christianity; Islam; Buddhism or Hinduism for making their decisions. Religion is reasserting itself as a major cultural influence.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A very good primer on Christian philosophy/theology of politicsBy Robert W. RobinsonPaul Marshall's book should be "must reading" for every evangelical Christian who wishes to have a biblical understanding of politics in our age.We live in a very frustrating time: (1) It is a time of ever-increasing polarization in the political realm - left and right demonize each other; and Christians are caught up in the hateful rhetoric. (2) A frustrating amount of Christians are misinformed about Christian political theory by pop Christian media sources. (3) Politicians seek to manipulate evangelicals with inflamed rhetoric in order to win our votes.Marshall cuts through it all with clarity and well-researched insights of what Christians should consider when thinking about policy issues in America.
