Very well written.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A fascinating storyBy College ProfessorI found this story fascinating--painful; tragic; triumphant; and tragic in more more muted way. Great adventure writing. I found the story of the first expedition more compelling; a page turner. Mina's expedition was less fraught; but does raise interesting issues about race and social class at the turn of the last century. Fabulous descriptions of landscape as well.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great book!By Tiffany ChenI had to read this book for one of my college classes. It was my favorite read in the class. The first part of the book is much more intriguing; and I connected with it better. Nonetheless; I would definitely recommend this great exploration story.
