Some of the stories describe events that I am already familiar with while others are new to me. But even the events that I already knew about are described from a slightly different perspective; being viewed in terms of the blunders that they were rather than straightforward historical events.It might be a personal thing; but I would have preferred the book to be written in chronological sequence as this would have made the cross references between certain characters and events easier to follow. I understand the way that the author divided the subject into the various chapters; but even within these the action leaps back and forward like a literary TARDIS.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A "Further Reading" list or abbreviated Bibliography would be nice as some of these tales are almost too fantastic to be believed.
