The Jewish community of Latvia lived at the crossroads of East and West and was the home of such distinguished people as Isaiah Berlin and Sergey Eisenstein. This book is a full history of the Jews of the region; from the first arrivals in the sixteenth century to the end of the twentieth; when the Holocaust and the second Soviet occupation resulted in the demise of the Jewish community in Latvia.

Westerners have great difficulty wrapping their head around Hinduism and while this book provides the basics it doesn't help a lot. I totally disagreed with the last chapter which sounds more like a syncretistic approach of trying to blend Christianity with Hinduism to reach people.
