The contributors focus on major issues that have historically challenged the relations between the three religions from the Goryeo period to the present and how each religion has responded to them. The essays bring a new perspective to the study of Korean religions; one that is especially pertinent in the current age of religious pluralism with all its tensions.

It is the kind of book that one wants to read cover-to-cover without stopping. It is amazing that the Korean-born author is able to use the English language with so much skill; using American expressions and idioms with great ease and fluency The reader is propelled forward reading action-packed sentences describing the authors terrifying experiences. His descriptions are incredibly vivid."Hats off" to Mr. Kim for not only using his ingenuity to survive; but for having taken the time to share hia story so skillfully with us. Many thanks to his daughter; Susanne Kim Nelson; (the editor) and to the publisher who have made this book available to us to have in our libraries. It is a "must-read." Go for it!
