What pleasantly surprised me about this book was the richness of stories between the Jewish aviators and their associations and experiences with groups such as the Tuskegee Airmen; Catholic clergy; their German captors; and many other groups. One area of the book that was quite interesting was their lives in captivity as POWs where they were subject to anti-Semitism from their fellow prisoners as well as the Germans. Some of these personal narratives are downright gripping. It is yet another chronicle of WWII that has gone untold until now.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Every history teacher should require their students to read this wonderful book.By LEN BERMANA marvelous historical book that factually documents the bravery and hardships that many Jewish service people experienced fighting for the United States during World War 2. The anti-Semitism that many had to deal with demonstrates their courage and fortitude during this period in American history.Every history teacher should require their students to read this wonderful book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
