Some of the illustrations are in fact drawn from earlier Soviet reconnaissance manuals. However; the original document was published in 1989; only two years before the collapse of the Soviet Union. The document is an accurate reproduction of the original; illustration for illustration. (I've seen the original; so I can validate the document within its historical context.)The original was published by the Dynamo sports organization; which was a state sponsored health club that also served as a cover (or front) organization for the Soviet selection and training of special troops and special police personnel.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Very well thought out and researched. It has great pictures and illustrations. Highly recommend.
