Can DNA help resolve medieval legend of King John's delegation to Moorish landsBy Laurence DaleyWhile researching the DNA of my origens; I found most came from Ireland and Navarra; as suggested by Patronymic and especially my Matronymic "GarcÃa Iñiguez." However a trace of what seems to relate to Moorish origins also appeared.Thus I searched by surname inferences and found that my mother s ancestral surnames related to the battle of Navas de Tolosa; and of course that is not proof positive; but it is very interesting. Thus. this case could related to the large numbers of Moras captivas who were spoils of that batte..Perhaps this relates to that half mythological narrations of Robert of London; so widely and so well discussed in this book.
