The first AEWCs aircraft.By William RileyThe USAF first adopted the Lockheed Constitution as a long-range transport. As the C-121; it served in this role very successfully. Then long-range radar was added in distinctive radomes above and below the fuselage; which created the EC-121; the first dedicated Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft; for the US Navy and the Air Force.
