There was lots of interesting information about the times in which he lived. I thought there was a lack of anecdotes. I was also disappointed to find that the photographs were missing. I contacted about this but wasn't able to find out why or to get another file with the piccies included.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Music and social issues collections at the college level will relish this surveyBy Midwest Book ReviewLouis Armstrong: The Soundtrack of the American Experience provides a fine life story of a great instrumentalist and entertainer; but it's much more than another biography of Louis Armstrong. Its survey weaves in social and cultural history and observations; showing how Armstrong was able to triumph over nearly impossible odds to become an international icon. Music and social issues collections at the college level will relish this survey.
