Military Insignia Handbook (Wordsworth Colour Handbooks)

audiobook Military Insignia Handbook (Wordsworth Colour Handbooks) by Derek Avery in History

Description

The battle of Leipzig was; in terms of the number of combatants involved; the largest engagement of the entire Napoleonic Wars (1799-1815). It was the only battle of the wars in which all Allied armies (including even the Swedes) fielded troops against Napoleon. Peter Hofschroer looks at the run-up to this crucial encounter as well as the battle itself. A wealth of background information is chronicled; including the strategies of both sides and detailed information on each of the combatant forces. The numerous battles leading up to Leipzig are also discussed; providing a fascinating and illuminating overview of the whole campaign.

Review
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Misleading!!By CustomerI wish I could have given this book zero stars. The title of the book does not match the content. I bought this book thinking I was going to get a reference book on military insignia but all I got was a book with a handful of pictures of mostly random military patches and a whole lot of nonsense (mostly raw data) about the size of the military for countries around the world. There was no explanation or description of any insignia (which there were only a few of) or patches. I paid $0.01 for the book and $3.99 for the shipping. I overpaid for both the book and the shipping. BTW I have bought many used books for a penny that were great books so don't be deceived by the used book price.
