SchaafThis book attempts to look at Hessian soldiers hired by the British from German principalities. Although; there is some interesting information in general found the book fragmentary; confused and confusing. The book has a reasonable number of citations. But; much of the information on interactions of Hessian prisoners and deserters appears unconvincing with little background on the sources.
