Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored: Tie In Edition

DOC Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored: Tie In Edition by Clifton L. Taulbert in History

Description

The 'Northern Crusades'; inspired by the Pope's call for a Holy War; are less celebrated than those in the Middle East; but they were also more successful: vast new territories became and remain Christian; such as Finland; Estonia and Prussia. Newly revised in the light of the recent developments in Baltic and Northern medieval research; this authoritative overview provides a balanced and compelling account of a tumultuous era.

Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored--Great Tiltle--But Who Are The People in the Pictures?By Andrea HarrisI heard the writer speak at my church and enjoyed his presentation. My book club decided to read his book. It was an interesting time capsule about life in the Mississippi Delta in the 50s; especially for him; a black child born into poverty and prejudice. His rise into positions of importance is inspiring; and his writing is elegant and full of kindness. It is a lovely book. It includes pictures. My book club and I were puzzled that the pictures did not include the names of the people in the photos; or their relation to the author.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
