Di Crocco IIIAn outstanding work by a superb military historian who has been a professor for many years at the US Army War College. It is essential reading for anyone interested in either the history of US amphibious operations or the Korean War. In addition to detailing the US Army's amphibious operations during the war; which are much more extensive than the average reader might realize; Professor Boose provides an excellent overview of the development of US amphibious doctrine prior to the war with special emphasis on operations during the Pacific Campaign in World War II. His treatment of the Army's largely unheralded amphibious operations during the Korean War is similarly excellent. If you thought that the Inchon landings were solely a USMC affair; think again. In conclusion; this book is a must read. Highly recommended.
