The authors mention other authors; like Louis Becke; Gavan Daws; and others; and my husband and I are reading those also. My husband loves the collection of 39 stories by Louis Becke; available on Kindle. Should this be required reading for young people; to warn them about the dangerous people in the world? I know I was way to sheltered and uninformed. I feel fortunate I made it to retirement age in tact (mostly).1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Not up to Michener standards; but still worth itBy Jack E. JenningsI read this to learn more about the exploration and adventurers in the South Pacific which I enjoyed; but this isn't James Michener's writing so must be his co-author; A.Grove Day who is not nearly as effective-entertaining. Nonetheless I did learn and stimulate my interest in knowing more and visiting the islands.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Four StarsBy SteveSome of the stories I really enjoyed others not so much. The good ones were really good though.
