The Waldenses; a Christian movement of the later Middle Ages; were also know as the Waldnesians or Vaudois. During the 12th century onwards; they were persecuted as heretics and endured near annihilation in the 17th century. They were outlawed; hunted; tortured; murdered; and hated by the ruling church of their day because they lived by the truth of God's Word and did not bow to their traditions and man-made laws. They kept the light of truth burning amid the darkness of the Middle Ages. This book describes succinctly the conflicts they waged and the martyrdoms they endured in defense of their faith and their liberty.

The Guiding Hand of ProvidenceBy RayDuring his lifetime George Washington often mentioned that he believed that "the guiding hand of providence" was protecting him and the fledgeling country. This book tells seven stories that were instrumental in this country's history that echo this sentiment of Washington's...now whether you believe God had a hand or not; that is up to the reader; but I have no doubt that these stories will make the reader at least wonder. A nation with a majority of kind; truthful; unselfish; and honorable people. The creation of America was truly a miracle; and it is difficult to take a deep look at our history; like the Steward's have done; and not see the many miracles God has bestowed on our great country. A must read for anyone who believes in providence and recognizes the hand of God in this world.I'm sure there are many who would denounce the idea that God preserved America to be a beacon of light on the hill because of slavery; treatment of the native Americans or any other myopic; ignorant point of view.But the fact is that GOD Is sovereign. Period. He has the big picture. His will is greater than the poison rhetoric of the adversary.
